Week 6 · Gurbani by meaning · Day 39
Shabad — when we serve, we find the Creator
Sewa — selfless service — is at the heart of Sikh practice. The Guru Granth Sahib Ji teaches again and again that true prayer is not only words but action: hands that serve, feet that go to those in need, a heart that gives without expecting anything back. Today’s line from Guru Ram Das Ji tells us that those who serve the Lord find peace — and that without service, the heart grows restless and hollow. Sewa is how we bring Gurbani alive.
Gurbani says that sewa — selfless service — is one of the highest forms of prayer, and that when we serve others, we serve the Creator.

“Those who serve the Creator are blessed with peace. Without service, one only regrets in the end.”
Ask: 'The Guru says serving others is like serving the Creator. What do you think that means for how we treat people who need help?'
