Week 5 · The Khalsa · Day 29
Vaisakhi 1699 — the day that changed everything
On Vaisakhi in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji did something the world had never seen before. He stood before thousands of people with a drawn sword and asked: who here is willing to give their head for the Guru? The tent went quiet — and then, one by one, five ordinary men walked forward. Those five brave souls became the Panj Pyare, the first members of the Khalsa. Today, over 300 years later, their courage still lives in every Sikh heart.
On Vaisakhi Day 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji called for the brave — and five ordinary men stepped forward to found the Khalsa.
