About Maastarji

Sikhi learning resources for diaspora families

Maastarji was born from a simple question that many Sikh parents in the diaspora wrestle with: How do we pass on our faith and heritage to our children in a way that actually sticks?

Family helps. Sangat at Gurdwara Sahib helps. But we wanted something more—resources families could use at home, in English so they're accessible, but rooted in our traditions. So we started building them.

Maastarji is built by a team of parents, teachers, and volunteers who share a passion for making Sikhi learning joyful and accessible for the next generation.

What is Maastarji?

Maastarji (ਮਾਸਟਰ ਜੀ) means "respected teacher" in Punjabi. This site is a growing collection of resources for Sikh families:

  • Children's books based on sakhis and Sikh history
  • Learning games to make Gurmukhi practice fun
  • Guides for parents and teachers

Built by parents and teachers for families like ours. If it helps your family, that's enough.
